Hardware Heartache

I've been having computer router issues these last few days, which means I've been unable to connect to the internet for more than a few minutes at a time. So frustrating. I've had actual fantasies of tossing my laptop out of the window. It's that horrible.

I'm sure I could be cut off any minute now, so I'll leave you with two things:

1. If you want a wildly funny book to read, please pick up Ask Again Later: A Novel. I read it in a day and LOVED it. It's not Goethe or anything, but it is freaking funny.

2. The Slideshow from the wedding earlier this month.

No Shame In My Game

I had a euphoric moment when I realized that I didn't have to spend hundreds of dollars on books--every other week. I could check them out at the library. At first I resisted it, even talked myself out of it. I mean, if you have kids it makes perfectly good sense or if you're a student, I could see it. But to avoid spending money at the bookstore, well, that's rather cheap. When I figured out how much money I would save though, I marched myself right into the library and got myself a library card, just like I did when I was in elementary school.

Now I have a library obsession. Unless I want to peruse through endless magazines, for free, which I still prefer to do at Borders, in the cafe with a nice tasty coffee beverage, I don't even need to look around. I have my books held for me by reserving them on the internet at home. So every couple of weeks I check Amazon.com's new and future release list and put anything that interests me on the list. Then the nice people at the library get it from the shelves or ship it in from wherever and hold it for me behind the counter.

It really is one of the best things I've done for myself. No more shame spending hard earned money on books and magazines.

Here's a look at the books I currently have out:::

A closer look:::

The only thing that could be better is if they delivered and picked up my dry cleaning on the way.

Allergies Anyone?

I'd like to rant for one second.

My allergies are driving me insane. I have been feeling so under the weather lately, it's been difficult for me to get through my daily routine. I had a hard time with allergies in Vegas, but it is ten times worse here in Omaha. Stupid corn.

A few months ago my doctor wrote a prescription for medication and my insurance denied it. DENIED. The reasoning was that since Claritin is over the counter now, they need documented proof over a reasonable time period that Claritin was not working for me. Stupid insurance.

The only medications that seem to work are the ones that make me resemble a very moody zombie. It's probably not so much because the medicine works as much as it's the fact that I'm completely knocked out asleep.

Anyway, on to better news. The weather is beautiful which makes my outdoor treks with the dogs so much more pleasant. I'm going to bring my camera this week during one of our walks to take some pics.

This morning I got up pretty early and bribed Curtis out with me to take pics of a client downtown at the Old Market. We couldn't get into the Passageway but it was great regardless. I really do love it down there, especially the waterfront.

This weather makes me want to get my balcony done. World Market has this great futon/sofa that I'm dying to get for it.

I'm all about the sky blue cushions instead of the cream though.

My only other plans for today is finishing this fabulous book that I can't put down.

Eat, Pray, Love.

Promise to blog more this week!
